Housing

For housing in Blacksburg, Virginia where the Virginia Tech main campus is located, try the following resources:

The Virginia Tech Off-Campus Housing Website: www.studentcenters.vt.edu/vtoch/rentals/ocp.htm. You must register in order to search for available housing, but registration is easy and free.  Listings are updated often.

Craigslist: http://blacksburg.craigslist.org/hhh/.  Craigslist is an online forum for buying and selling just about anything.  It is a good place to look for apartments but you should wait until you arrive, see the apartment, and meet the landlord to enter into any apartment contracts.

Recommendations: Your Virginia Tech Host or department can also recommend housing for you or put you in contact with other scholars in the department who can recommend housing options for you.

Temporary Housing: If you need a temporary place to stay when you arrive before you find long term housing, consider staying in a hotel that has weekly rates.  Some hotels close to campus are:
