Virginia Tech’s Gamma Omega chapter seeks to recognize members of the Virginia Tech community (students, faculty members, and staff members), regardless of Phi Beta Delta membership status. Awards will be presented during the spring induction and awards ceremony to outstanding members of the University who exemplify the society's mission, which is:

  • To recognize the scholarly achievement of international students and scholars, who have studied abroad and faculty and staff who are involved in international activities;
  • To serve as a vehicle for the development of academic-based international programming;
  • To provide a network on each campus of faculty, staff and students involved in international endeavors; and
  • To extend this network to thousands of members in chapters throughout the world

In order to broaden the opportunity for members of the entire Virginia Tech community to receive this award, we invite members of the community to nominate students, faculty members, or staff members who have exemplified, in an outstanding manner, some or all of the aspects of Phi Beta Delta's mission.

Please use the nomination form = separate document for all nominations.

Please note that each nominator can only submit one nomination for each of the three categories. Each year, nominations must be received by 5.00pm on March 15.

Nominations must be sent to:

Betty Watts
Phi Beta Delta
526 Prices Fork Rd
Blacksburg, VA  24061

After reviewing the nomination material, the Awards and Scholarship Committee will present the list with the finalists to the Chapter's Executive Committee for confirmation and approval. The awards will be presented during the Spring Induction Ceremony in April.
There are dozens of members of the Tech community whose behavior and activities embody our society's mission; they deserve to be recognized!
